About Me

Hello, I’m Emma and I offer individual therapy to adults; online and in person. I believe in the resourcefulness of the human spirit and in the value of helping people to uncover their own solutions to life’s challenges.

I have a Masters in Psychology and a PGDip in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am an UKCP accredited psychotherapist, a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a doctoral researcher in the final year of my training as a Counselling Psychologist. My research explores how time spent in nature may be experienced as therapeutic, within the context of post-traumatic growth.

I have additional training in Non Violent Communication, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy (Level 1).

In addition to my private practice, I have gained clinical experience in the NHS, and within community counselling services. I have worked with clients experiencing many different issues, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, body image, addictions and relationship issues. I also have experience working with both patients and carers within an NHS cancer support service.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in Human Resources at senior level for many years and have experience of helping individuals to understand the complexities that arise in the workplace and how to navigate through these.
